SAHA President. Former cultural anthropologist at an American Indian archaeological museum, writer-editor, social activist. Sharon has lived in Southbury for 32 years and shares an artifact-filled home with her anthropologist husband.
SAHA Vice President. With a degree in Economic Development, Kathryn has worked as a government contractor and research analyst. She formerly served as Vice President of the Strategic Plan Commission and in this capacity has advocated for affordable housing.
A member of SAHA's Board of Directors, Yarel is an educator and cultural competence specialist. She and her family have lived in Southbury for over 13 years, and her children have all graduated from Region 15 schools.
Coreen is an adviser to SAHA's Board of Directors. With more than a decade of experience in affordable housing, she is currently Vice President of the Housing Choice Voucher for the New Haven Housing Authority. Coreen and her family have lived in Southbury since 2019.
SAHA's Secretary-Treasurer. Formerly Vice President of HRAF (cross-cultural data/info) at Yale University, David also co-owned a Massachusetts publishing company and has written and edited more than 100 volumes about community life, homelessness, and Black experiences in the Berkshires.
A Board member, Tori finally found a low-cost rental apartment in Southbury, where she lives with her son, an honor student. Tori, who wears a cochlear implant for her deafness, works as an ASL (American Sign Language) Job Coach with Independent Living Solutions of Waterbury, CT.
A member of the SAHA Board, Ruth is a lifelong salesperson, who now lives in Heritage Village with her fur babies. During her life, she has resided all over the United States in rural, city, and suburban settings, as well as Vancouver, BC, and a Mexican fishing village where she "enrolled" her two daughters in the local school to learn Spanish. As a full-time realtor, she works with many hardworking people who qualify for a mortgage, but not at today’s current price levels, and feels strongly that our working people and seniors deserve affordable, safe, and modern housing.
David is SAHA's Affordable Housing Consultant. Owner of Housing Enterprises, he is our North Star as we progress through the steps to acquire land for building. He's the go-to consultant in Connecticut, guiding scores of affordable housing projects to successful completion over the course of almost 30 years.

Owain is currently enrolled in college as a Computer Science major and has made great contributions towards the SAHA website. We look forward to him becoming more involved with the organization.
